Cattle Drives To and Through Wyoming
The cattle drives started just after the Civil War and continued almost into the early 1900’s. The movie industry has depicted these drives as great romantic adventures, but they were grueling, difficult and deadly trips. The drovers fought weather, rivers, stampedes, loneliness and many were buried along the trail.

The day of the cowboy and the large independent ranches are a thing of the past; however, cattle are still a part of our Wyoming today.
